Our goal is simple: give old paddle boards another chance before they end up in the landfill. We work to keep oceans clean and landfills empty.
What Happens to Your Donated Paddle Board?
Every board is different. Once we receive it, we fully inspect it, strip it down when needed, and decide the best way to give it a second life.
We always attempt to:

Repair it – Small issues like a leaking valve, puncture, or damaged part do not always mean the board is finished. We repair and test boards so they can return to the water.

Reuse it – A board that no longer works for you may still have life left. Usable boards are cleaned, repaired, refurbished, and offered to a new owner with the condition clearly disclosed.

Upcycle it – If the board cannot return to the water, we salvage useful parts such as valves, fins, handles, D-rings, bungees, fin boxes, and PVC material for repairs, testing, or other projects.

Recycle it where possible – When reuse is not practical, we explore appropriate recycling or material recovery options.
Our philosophy is clear:

Please do not assume your inflatable SUP is “too broken.” Let us decide.
We consider boards with:
- Leaking valves or air leaks
- Small holes and punctures
- Seam leaks or blown seams
- Damaged deck pads or broken D-rings

- Cosmetic damage, heavy wear, older construction, or unknown problems
Even if the original manufacturer said it could not be fixed, or your local repair shop said it was not worth saving, we still want to see it. We specialize in giving the worst boards a second chance. Many boards that others write off can still be repaired, stripped for parts, or given a new purpose.

We accept unwanted inflatable SUPs from virtually any manufacturer, including specialty brands, outdoor retailers, department stores, warehouse clubs, online marketplaces, and Amazon.

Why Donate Instead of Throwing It Away?
Inflatable paddle boards use PVC outer materials with internal drop-stitch construction. This makes them strong when inflated, but harder to recycle through regular household programs.
That is why we focus first on extending the useful life of every board and its components. We strip boards down, attempt repairs, and look for every possible way to keep them out of the landfill. Even the worst boards can often be spared.

EVT has years of experience selling, renting, inspecting, and working with inflatable paddle boards. This program lets us keep learning from real-world equipment while giving unwanted boards and components another chance to be useful.
Every old board tells a story: where it leaked, what failed first, what lasted, what can be repaired or reused, and what manufacturers can improve. We use that knowledge to keep more boards on the water and out of the trash.

Do you accept other brands?
Yes. Your board does not need to have been purchased from EVT.
Can I donate a board with a blown seam?
Yes. Even if full repair is not practical, components or materials may still be useful. Send us a photo.
Can I ship my board?
Yes. Eligible boards can be shipped to Calgary. Contact us first for instructions. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the donor.
Do I get paid for donating?
No. This is a voluntary donation and take-back program. Once accepted, the equipment becomes EVT’s property and may be repaired, reused, refurbished, resold, dismantled for parts, upcycled, recycled where possible, used for testing, or responsibly disposed of.
What if you repair my board?
If it can be safely and economically repaired, we may repair, refurbish, and resell or otherwise reuse it so it gets another owner.
What if it can’t be repaired?
We strip it down, salvage useful components, use it for testing or education, upcycle materials, explore recycling options, or responsibly dispose of what cannot be recovered.
Can I just drop the board off without contacting you?
Please contact us first. This ensures we can give you current drop-off instructions and are available to receive the donation.

Donation Terms
By voluntarily donating equipment to EVT, you transfer ownership of the donated equipment to EVT. Donated equipment will not be returned and has no cash or trade-in value unless otherwise agreed in writing.
EVT may inspect, test, repair, refurbish, reuse, resell, donate, dismantle, salvage for parts, upcycle, recycle, use for research or product testing, or responsibly dispose of donated equipment at its discretion.
Acceptance of a donation does not guarantee that the complete paddle board or all of its materials will be recycled or reused. Recycling and material recovery depend on the condition and composition of the equipment and the availability of appropriate options.
