Paddle Board - FAQ - Common Questions

What is included when I buy an iSUP?

Every iSUP Includes: The paddle board, the paddle, pump, backpack, safety leash, and tool kit.

What is the difference between a longer and a shorter board?

The length of a board will mainly have an impact on its speed and handling.

A longer board will slide more easily on the water, which will make it faster. However, it will be less reactive and therefore more difficult to handle.

A shorter board will not be fast on the water, but it will be more responsive, and easier to handle.

What is the difference between a thicker and thinner board?

The thickness of a board will mainly have an impact on its flotation. The thinner the board, the less it will float. (4" inches or less). A thicker board will float more, which will make it very useful in shallow or rocky water; like a river. (6" inches)

Can I store my board in my shed or garage?

The important thing for your iSUP and its backpack is that they are stored in a dry and isolated environment. Your shed and garage are therefore great places in the spring, summer and fall.

However, Canadian winters are too cold to store your iSUP. So, unless your garage or shed is heated to at least 5° C / 45° F, it's best to store your equipment inside your house.

Can I leave my iSUP inflated after using it?

If it is stored securely in a dry, isolated and heated environment and is well stable, there is no problem. But make sure it won't be under pressure and its weight is well distributed. Outside of the water, your iSUP should be nothing more than a fragile trinket. It is definitely not a table.

How many people can board an iSUP?

The majority of iSUP models are designed to carry one person and some light luggage.

To find out how much weight a board can support, check out the maximum weight specification on the product page.

Can my dog come with me on my iSUP?

Yes, your dog can board your iSUP with you. The materials of our iSUPs are extremely durable.

However, it is important to take extra precautions, such as making sure that: your dog is comfortable;  that he can swim, that it is equipped with a flotation device suitable for dogs of its size and weight, that your board is able to support the total of your weight, its own and any other equipment you may have on board, that you will have enough space on your iSUP to control it despite your dog's presence.

Where should I store my iSUP?

Once your iSUP is perfectly dry and folded into its backpack, find a dry, isolated and ideally heated place for it. Avoid places that are too hot (over 25° C / 75° F) or too cold (under 5° C / 45° F).

Here is some important information to help you choose the right place to store your iSUP:

 - Sun rays: Even when they are light, the sun's rays cause wear and tear of your board, in addition to discoloring it.

 - Humidity: Just because your board is made to go on the water doesn't mean it does well in a humid environment. Moisture creates mold, which will seriously damage your board.

 - Heat: In an environment that is too hot (25°C / 75° F), your board materials may prematurely wear and discolor, even if they are inside the backpack.

 - Cold: In an environment that is too cold (5°C / 45° F) and below, the materials and accessories of your iSUP could be weakened by the cold and even break on their own.

 - Backpack: Your iSUP's backpack is not bubble wrap. Once in storage, make sure your bag is flat and stable and that no pressure will be on your bag. Do Not Stack anything on top of your board. If stored the wrong way, your iSUP could warp or break.

What should I do with my board after I get out of the water?

Rinse off your board, especially if you've been in salt water. Then you can deflate it (make sure you have completely removed the air), fold it up and store it in its backpack. Ideally, try to dry your board before putting it in the bag. If you haven't had time to dry it before you leave the beach, take your iSUP out of its bag to dry it completely when you get home.
